"Sony will be bringing cl@ssic PlayStation Portable titles to PlayStation 3 as part of a new PSP Remaster lineup. The company announced the series today along with its first major release.

PSP Remaster offers PSP titles remastered for play on the PS3. The games are spruced up with full HD visuals, compatibility with Dual Shock 3, PS3 exclusive content, 3D support, and other features.

The PSP and PS3 versions of the game also share save data. Sony says that this could allow you to play a game on the PSP while on the go, then continue playing when you return home.

The PS3 versions are also compatible with Sony's Ad Hoc Party for PlayStation Portable service for network play. This free PS3 app normally allows local play PSP titles to use the PS3 as a proxy for true online play.

The series will kick off first in Japan through sales of Blu-ray Disc titles, Sony said. The wording of Sony's statement suggests that the series will also be released internationally and will also see some games offered in download form. The press release did not explicitly mention these areas, though.

For the series' first title, Sony has a biggie. As detailed earlier today, Capcom will release a PS3 version of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd under the name Monster Hunter Portable HD. The 4.5 million selling PSP title will feature 3D support, HD visuals and shared save files with the PSP, and will see release this summer."

Hell yeah, what kind of PSP games do you want to see ported to PS3, here are some PSP titles that will hopefully be remastered for PS3:

I've been hoping for a Birth By Sleep port to PS3 ever since it was released. With any luck, people will now be able to play the game WITHOUT having to buy a PSP. Aside from the KH title, there's really nothing else in the entire PSP library that screams "must play" to me.

Dissidia and Crisis Core are some serious fan service, but neither one was that well reviewed. Perhaps if they remade Peace Walker for PS3.

As far as GOW, R&C, Resistance, etc. go ... I don't feel like playing any of those PSP side games, even if they were ported to console.

like, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Metal Gear Peace Walker, Final Fantasy Crisis Core VII, Ys Seven.

it would be great to play MGS peace walker with the dual shock controller.

There are tons of games I'd like to seen remade on PS3... All of the games that were listed, and many more. I wonder if Socom FTB2 could be remade? My favorite online game ever on PSP, it would be so cool to play it again (even with the difference in graphics and everything).

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. The sequel getting an English version remake on the PS3 would be nice too.

I am pretty sure there are other games I would want, but I can't think of the names of them right now. I don't even care if it remastered. I just want PSP games on PS3. The only extra thing I would want is the camera to be controlled by the right analog stick for the games that need it.

I would hope they would release them at a budget price like the PS2 game remasters. Can't see them getting away with charging full price for them.

Monster Hunter (confirmed)

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (have it already for PSP)

Dissidia Final Fantasy

I hope that people who have the original game for the PSP will get a discount. Also i hope there's trophy support and that i can upload game saves from the original game. The remastered games shouldnt be $60 either. Afterall, they are PSP games with a little DLC and HD.

I'm just surprised that they would do this instead of focusing on PS2 Collections, since only 2 Sony-exclusive franchises have been ported to the PS3 so far, excluding the ICO collection that's coming late this year.RogueShodown

They'll probably release more later. I doubt they would just abandon that line given how popular it is.

Wouldn't mind seeing Daxter since we haven't had a Jak game in forever on a console.

The picture pretty much sums it up for what I've been wanting on the ps3, nice to see I may finally be able to play monster hunter properly with HD graphics, dual analog sticks, and online play. This should be pretty great when it comes out.
